In calculating our impact reports, we use localized, user specific data whenever possible. We pull gas prices (as published by AAA) by zip code on a daily basis and use the EPA's vehicle mileage estimates for the make, model, and year of the vehicle each user would normally drive if they were not using some alternative mode of transportation.
